It is with great pleasure to announce that Professor Juergen Reichardt has joined the International Scientific Advisory Council of the Golden Helix Foundation.
The 17th Golden Helix Pharmacogenomics Day was successfully organized in Rotterdam, the Netherlands on May 27th, 2016 by the Golden Helix Foundation and the Erasmus University Medical Center. Overall, the conference was attended by 164 participants from over 10 countries from Europe and the United States and was under the auspices of several national and international organizations, such as the Dutch Royal Pharmacists Association, the Genomic Medicine Alliance, the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry, and others.
The Golden Helix Foundation proudly announces the establishment of the Golden Helix Academy, as part of the Foundation's educational activities. The Golden Helix Academy aims to establish, in concert with established academic institutions, e-learning modules related to Genomic Medicine topics, such as Public Health Genomics, Genome informatics, Economics and Health Technology Assessment in Genomics and Genethics, These modules lead to Certificates, specifically aimed for the needs of parties from developing countries.
These modules will be provided in English, as well as in local languages, where applicable.

We are delighted to announce that the Golden Helix Foundation has entered an agreement with the University of Malaya to become the Regional Center of the Golden Helix Foundation in Asia-Pacific. The two entities have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for joint research and educational activities, focusing in particular on Public Health Genomics.
The first joint project will be announced in April 2016 and will be implemented in the region of Southeast Asia.
We are excited to report that the U-PGx proposal that was submitted in the PHC-24-2015 Piloting personalised medicine in health and care systems H2020 call has been favourably evaluated by the European Commission in stage 2 evaluations and achieved top score. The project will have a funding volume of 14,9 million Euros and a duration of 60 months. The grant agreement is expected to be finalised within the next 3 months.
The Golden Helix Foundation participates in the U-PGx project as full partner and Component Leader (Project coordinator: Prof. Henk-Jan Guchelaar; Leiden University Medical Center, the Netherlands), responsible for the economic evaluation and dissemination activities.

The 16th Golden Helix Pharmacogenomics Day is an educational event that aims to provide timely updates on the field of pharmacogenomics and personalized medicine to the local biomedical scientists and healthcare providers, to inform them on the application of pharmacogenomics in fields such as psychiatric disorders, oncology, and to bring together faculty members from universities and research institutes from the local scientific arena working in the field of pharmacogenomics in order to initiate collaborative projects in this field to the benefit of society.
