Today, the management board of the Golden Helix Foundation proudly announces that the Foundation has officially incorporated as a UK Charity. According to Dr. Darrol Baker, director of the Foundation, "...this development will likely create new opportunities for fund raising that would further boost the research and educational activities of the Golden Helix Institute of Biomedical Research".
The 9th Golden Helix Pharmacogenomics Day was successfully organized in Zagreb, Croatia on May 31st, 2013. The meeting was attended by over 100 participants and supported by local and international biotech companies. The European Collaborative project RD-Connect has placed this event under its auspices. There have been several new collaborations that have emerged from this meeting, particularly in the field of economic evaluation in genomic medicine.

The Golden Helix Institute of Biomedical Research and the European Molecular Biology Organization have agreed to co-organize the 10th Golden Helix Pharmacogenomics Day in Amsterdam, the Netherlands on September 21st, 2013, as a Special Interest Symposium during the 5th EMBO Meeting. Bulgaria is the latest country to join the Pharmacogenomics for Every Nation Initiative. Prof. Radka Kaneva from the Department of Medical Chemistry and Biochemistry, Molecular Medicine Center, Medical University, Sofia, Bulgaria will be the coordinator of the project on behalf of Bulgaria.
