Stay tuned with Golden Helix Foundation

The 12th Golden Helix Pharmacogenomics Day was organized on December 6th, 2013 in Aviano, Italy. This was the 3rd Golden Helx Conference organized in Italy after the 4th Golden Helix Pharmacogenomics Day in Cagliari and the 2012 Golden Helix Symposium in Turin. The meeting was attended by over 100 registered participants and provided CME credits to attendees.

The Golden Helix Foundation has officially announced the organization of the 2014 Golden Helix Summer School in Aegina, an island near Athens, Greece, 11-15 September 2014. The Golden Helix Summer Schools are international educational activities in the field of Genomic Medicine and Genome Informatics. These educational activities constitute a unique opportunity for researchers around the world to expand their knowledge in the rapidly evolving field of Genomic Medicine and to exchange innovative ideas in the conductive environment of Greek islands. The quality of the Golden Helix Summer Schools educational programs, organized under the umbrella of the Golden Helix Foundation and the Genomic Medicine Aliance is intertwined with an attractive social program for both invited speakers and students, to cater the needs of each research them, while indulging the Greek summer time.The scientific program of the 2014 Golden Helix Summer School will be announced shortly. The organizing committee has made every effort to keep registration fees low to encourage participation of attendees from developing countries.

The 2013 Golden Helix Symposium was organized in Dubai, United Arab Emirates at the Al Bustan Rotana hotel, November 17-19, 2013. The 2013 Golden Helix Symposium was co-organized with the 5th Pan-Arab Human Genetics Conference, the most prestigious Human Genetics meeting in the Arab world. The Center for Arab Genomic Studies and the Golden Helix Foundation were the co-organizers that was generously supported by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences and was under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance (UAE). Several high profile speakers, such as David Cooper (Cardiff, UK), Angela Brand (Maastricht, the Netherlands), Jun Wang, CEO of BGI (Shenzen, CN), Radoje Drmanac (Mountain View, CA, USA), Ron van Schaik (Rotterdam, the Netherlands), Hilger Ropers (Berlin, DE), have delivered state-of-the-art lectures over next-generation sequencing, pharmacogenomics, genomics of rare disorders, public health genomics. This prestigious joint Human Genetics conference was attended by over 900 physicians and biomedical scientists from over 70 countries and supported by almost all the major biotechnology companies that are active int eh field of genomics research.

The 11th Golden Helix Pharmacogenomics Day was successfully organized in Bled, Slovenia on October 10th, 2013, as satellite event of the 10th Balkan Meeting of Human Genetics and the 2nd Adria Alps Human Genetics Conference. The event was well attended by participants from several countries, mostly from the Balkan countries. The Genomic Medicine Alliance and the European Collaborative project RD-Connect have placed this event under its auspices.

The 10th Golden Helix Pharmacogenomics Day was organized, as Special Interest Symposium, in Amsterdam, the Netherlands on September 21st, 2013 during the 1st day of the 5th EMBO Meeting. Several international renowned speakers, such as Professors Wouter de Laat, Sjaak Philipsen, Joris Veltman have delivered state-of-the-art lectures to registered participants. The European Collaborative project RD-Connect has placed this event under its auspices, and the European Molecular Biology Organization has kindly provided in-kind support.
