User guide
The Lebanese National Genetic Database is designed to work with all modern browsers on any
platform. It has been tested to work on both Internet Explorer 6 and Mozilla 1.2 for the PC.
The Lebanese National Genetic Database is a prototype database, which fruitfully integrates information
on the heterogeneity of inherited disorders studied for the Lebanese population. By selecting a disorder in the
summary page, brief information related to this disorder is displayed. In addition, a link is provided for each
disorder at the Online Mendelian Inheritance in Man (OMIM)
general database, for the user to get more in-depth information and to select from the extensive
literature provided therein. Also, the querying option of this database enables the user to formulate simple
queries by selecting an ethnic group and disorder and where applicable filter for a mutation frequency range.
Additionally, the database contains useful links related to Human Genetics and Molecular Diagnostics. Finally, for questions,
remarks, comments or any assistance, the contact information of everyone involved in this effort is provided.
